Our philosophy is simple. We aim to provide residents with all that is necessary for their comfort, companionship and well being. This is set out in our very own Residents Charter.
We encourage a happy family atmosphere whilst preserving individual dignity, choice and independence. The rights of our residents are of the utmost importance to us.
Pre-admission, and at the beginning of their stay, a full Health Needs Assessment is carried out and individual care plans are compiled with the resident and their family. Whether for short or long stay, improving or maintaining some independence for our residents is a priority.
For those in need of end-of-life or palliative care, we have experienced, qualified staff, trained and supported by our two local hospices. Downsvale is part of the national Gold Standards Framework initiative (gsf.org.uk).

Rooms
Dowsvale has 26 single bedrooms, and four shared for those preferring company at night. These are situated on both the ground and upper levels and we have lift access to all floors. Personal effects, pets and furniture are welcome to make residents’ rooms as comfortable and homely as possible.
All rooms have Nurse Call and television points.
