Activities and Tech for Better Living 

Two Activities Therapists are employed as part of Downsvale’s social care, encouraging residents to pursue individual interests and hobbies. All our staff also join in with recreational therapy as part of everyday life. Outings and entertainment with vast number of performers are frequently arranged and community links encouraged.

Our Activity team encourages all to be active and the residents have had no qualms about doing that, getting involved in lots of crafts, baking, singing, physical activity, creative writing sessions to produce lovely poems which sparks lots of conversations with cherished stories shared, reliving those times. All the residents enjoy a fun life at Downsvale.

Downsvale has implemented a lot of new technology to enhance our resident’s quality of life

• A large screen SMART TV has been installed for resident’s viewing pleasure.
• AmazonAlexa for resident’s entertainment playing music, games, puzzles etc.
• Interactive Touch Screen Table: Meet UP from Sharp Corp. (https://www.sharp.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/gb/hs.xsl/-/html/product-details-interactive-models.htm?product=L80MEETUP40), which allows up to 5 people to play a range of touch type games, puzzles, and engaging sensory exercises, building on the residents motor and cognitive skills.
