Activities and Tech for Better Living 

Two Activities Therapists are employed as part of Downsvale’s social care, encouraging residents to pursue individual interests and hobbies. All our staff actively participate in recreational therapy as part of daily life. We frequently arrange outings and entertainment with numerous performers, and we actively encourage community connections.

Firstly Our Activity team actively encourages everyone to stay engaged. Residents eagerly participate in various crafts, baking, singing, physical activities, and creative writing sessions. These sessions produce lovely poems that spark conversations filled with cherished stories and fond memories. At Downsvale, all residents enjoy a fun and vibrant life.

• We have installed a large-screen SMART TV for the residents’ viewing pleasure. Amazon Alexa entertains residents by playing music, games, puzzles, and more.

• Interactive Touch Screen Table: Meet UP from Sharp Corp. (https://www.sharp.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/gb/hs.xsl/-/html/product-details-interactive-models.htm?product=L80MEETUP40), which allows up to 5 people to play a range of touch type games, puzzles, and engaging sensory exercises, building on the residents motor and cognitive skills.
