Looking for a Kitchen Assistant -Weekday and Weekends (40+Hours )
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work at our 31-bed Nursing Home in Dorking, Surrey with a CQC ‘Good’ rating in all domains. The home is situated in a beautiful location and has a friendly and longstanding team of staff working in a family-like environment. We offer general and palliative nursing care to our elderly residents.
We pride ourselves on offering a service that our staff would use for their loved ones, should the necessity arise. We need staff who are committed to this same standard of care.
Skills & Responsibilities
Experience in a similar environment of working in a Care Home for Dementia and Elderly Care.
Strong communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Successfully working under pressure and meet time deadlines.
To make sure our residents receive quality care and support in the best possible surroundings.
Must comply with company standards, policies and procedures for cleanliness and food preparation to ensure the residents are being catered efficiently.
Minimise the risk of accidents and waste by effective working under supervision and ensuring all areas are hazard free and clean at all times.
Ensure that the work is carried in a safe environment in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure that all COSHH records are maintained and updated when necessary.
Fully aware and comply with infection control policies and procedures and appropriate hand hygiene techniques.
Kitchen Assistant
Assisting in the preparation, cooking and serving of meal.
Wash, dry and store all kitchen items to achieve compliance with company standards, policies and procedures.
Demonstrate the highest standards in cleanliness, food safety and hygiene to ensure the residents are being catered efficiently.
Maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures.
We provide a full induction and pride ourselves in the support and training opportunities that we offer staff to improve and develop their skills.
Salary: £26,800.00-£27,000.00 per year
Experience:
Catering: 1 year (preferred)
Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
